Jira switch & enhancing task management

Took on the task of organizing and executing the switch from Redmine to Jira for task management, and later time logging. This was done within a Product development team.

This involved practical tasks such as:

  • Cleanup and prep work for tickets
  • Exporting & importing: creative solutions to overcome the limits of the API’s (using Google Sheets & Apps Script)
  • Reorganizing the work across multiple projects

The next step was establishing new processes and ways of working within an Agile workflow to avoid pitfalls of the past (ever-growing backlog of ideas, missing information, unrefined work, …). Improvements include: validation & linking of features to Roadmap, facilitating status & update meetings, guidelines for task management & user story creation, guidelines for time logging, …

These were all discussed, tested and validated with the team and the Head of Product. I documented the processes and changes as we went and adopted the changes.
